The Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) officially inaugurated the Viettel Logistics Park in northern mountainous Lang Son, on December 11.

The province borders China to the north.

Covering an area of 143 ha and with a total investment of nearly VND3.3 trillion (nearly $130 million), the park is designed as an integrated dry port.

It offers comprehensive customs clearance, import-export, and cargo storage services, serving as a central trading hub for agricultural products between Vietnam and China.

The park is expected to not only boost regional trade but also expand Vietnam's export capacity to international markets, thereby enhancing the country's economic standing.

The park's main zones include a multi-agency building and Network Operation Center (NOC) that houses Vietnamese and Chinese customs officials, border guards, quarantine officers, banks, and tax authorities. The NOC digitizes data from IoT devices to monitor efficiency, cargo and vehicle flow, predict traffic, and warn of potential incidents.

With its optimised design and advanced technology, Viettel Logistics Park can handle up to 1,500 vehicles per day, doubling the customs clearance capacity at the Lang Son border gate.

The Smart Gate zone integrates a vehicle routing system, image processing technology, and artificial intelligence to automatically identify license plates, container codes, and driver biometrics.

The automated transshipment area employs telescopic conveyors instead of manual labor, reducing the time needed to transfer goods between two containers to 30-40 minutes, compared to three hours using traditional methods.

The exhibition and livestreaming area provides a space for trade promotion activities, product and service showcases, and boosting e-commerce through product livestreaming on online platforms, connecting businesses directly with the global market.
