Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the opening ceremony of the $249 million second facility at the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital on April 15.
Construction of the 1,000-bed facility began in June 2016 and it was partially put into operation in late 2020.
Prime Minister Chinh affirmed at the opening ceremony that the Party and the State pay great attention to the care and protection of people’s health and have issued many resolutions, directives, and master plans, including a strategy on protecting, caring for, and improving people’s health and a master plan on building five centrally-run hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, including a second facility at the Oncology Hospital.
He urged the Ministry of Health to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to tackle difficulties and obstacles and create the necessary conditions for the Oncology Hospital to continue to develop and improve the quality of medical examinations and treatment, to contribute to building a high-quality network of medical establishments at the grassroots level.
