Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines have signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the 2024-2028 period.

The two parties will coordinate to research and develop new products and services in accordance with trends in global aviation.

Vietnam Airlines will also work closely with ACV to continue improving service quality at the carrier and its member units.

The two will also cooperate extensively in information technology and digital transformation.

Cooperation is also a basis for the two parties to share their vision, management, and operating experience, thereby improving operational efficiency and business development.

In addition to offering better service to passengers, the cooperation between the two will also contribute to the development of Vietnam’s aviation industry and the country’s socio-economic growth.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Vietnam Airlines, said the operation, exploitation, and development of Vietnam Airlines over the years has always been closely associated with ACV.

“The agreement is a new step in the sustainable cooperation between the two sides,” he went on. “It will promote the strengths and potential of Vietnam Airlines and ACV, thereby boosting the development of Vietnam’s aviation industry as well as socio-economic development in the country as a whole.”

Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh, Chairman of the ACV, emphasized that it and Vietnam Airlines are two large State-owned corporations in Vietnam’s civil aviation industry, sharing a history of formation and development that has created a close relationship.

“To better serve the needs of domestic and foreign passenger and goods transport and support Vietnam’s tourism and socio-economic development, the two parties have made efforts over the course of many years to build and develop high-quality products and services and modern infrastructure, successfully completing political tasks and developing together sustainably,” Mr. Thanh said.

ACV and Vietnam Airlines also agreed to establish a working group to jointly develop a plan to effectively exploit each phase of Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai province and Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. There are also plans to meet the terminal needs of Vietnam Airlines and its member units.

Vietnam Airlines will provide a plan to develop its fleet and open new routes as a basis for the ACV to organize service resources and business cooperation.

Vietnam Airlines currently operates flights to 22 domestic destinations and 29 international destinations, with a modern fleet of aircraft.

It is a member of global aviation organizations such as the IATA, SkyTeam, and APPA, confirming its international reputation and ability to expand its flight network. These are important foundations for the national flag carrier to increasingly expand its operations, contributing to creating a strong driving force for the development of airports across the country as well as the entire aviation industry in Vietnam.

ACV is currently managing, investing, and operating 22 airports around the country, ensuring absolute security and aviation safety and the quality of passenger service.
