Amkor Bac Ninh announced its first export batch of semiconductors just one month after beginning official operations. The news was shared with provincial leaders during their visit to the factory on September 12.
The Amkor Technology Vietnam project, located in the Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park in Bac Ninh province, spans 23 hectares and has an initial investment capital of approximately $530 million.
Amkor Bac Ninh officially commenced operations in August. According to company leaders, it has already secured deals with four customers and successfully exported its first batch of semiconductors. The company is currently negotiating with six additional customers for future orders.
The company currently employs over 1,061 staff and laborers, of which 938 are Vietnamese. To date, the company has welcomed approximately 200 global customers to visit the factory and explore cooperation opportunities.
Amkor Technology was co-founded by the United States and South Korea in 1968. It was the first company to produce semiconductor products in South Korea and a pioneer in the semiconductor industry there.
Leaders of the Amkor Technology Group have repeatedly affirmed that Amkor Bac Ninh will become a crucial stronghold and a pillar in Amkor's global network of operations and sustainable development in the semiconductor sector. And that will facilitate the formation and development of a semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam.
