Vietnam’s aviation sector is expected to have served 55 million passengers in 2022, a 3.7-fold increase against last year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
Of these, 11 million passengers were on international flights, up 22-fold against 2021, the CAAV told a meeting held in Hanoi on December 19 to review the aviation sector’s performance in 2022 and discuss tasks in 2023.
The total volume of cargo transported by air in 2022 is estimated at 1.25 million tons.
Vietnam’s aviation market has recovered strongly thanks to direction from the Party, the government, and the Ministry of Transport, together with the implementation of comprehensive measures by CAAV to tackle difficulties and ensure sustainable, safe, and effective aviation development.
