Social insurance agencies will carry out regular and irregular inspections and strictly punish businesses found to be delaying social insurance premium payments for longer than three months.
They will also work with public security forces to prepare legal documents to handle violations in line with regulations.
These are part of measures planned by Vietnam Social Security to prevent delays in the payment of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance premiums to ensure the interests of employees.
Figures from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor show that social insurance premiums owed by enterprises have reached VND22 trillion ($933 million), affecting the legitimate rights of more than 200,000 employees.
