CMC proposes 3 initiatives to promote technology development in the Southeast region

The Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) organized the 7th annual international conference on October 28, with the theme "Strategic Technologies Promoting Sustainable Industrial Development", marking a new milestone in Vietnam's integration into science, technology, and innovation. 

During the plenary session, Mr. Dang Tung Son, Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of CMC Corporation, shared three initiatives to promote technology development in Vietnam's Southeast region.

The first initiative is the development of a Hyperscale Data Center, as the development of digital infrastructure is a key factor in meeting the growing demand for technology. With the aim of becoming the "AI Heart of Ho Chi Minh City," this data center will provide GPU infrastructure, Cloud services, and AI-as-a-Service for businesses and attract international technology investors to Vietnam. The project was approved by the SHTP Management Board on June 24, 2025.

The second initiative is to enhance cloud computing capabilities at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park. According to Mr. Son, alongside promoting digital transformation, the transition to AI is increasingly demanding higher data processing capabilities of digital infrastructure. 

The third initiative is to build an "AI city" in collaboration with the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center (C4IR) at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park. Specifically, CMC is working with C4IR to draft a strategic program for AI transformation in the city towards 2045, focusing on four main pillars: Digital Economy, Digital Government, Digital Workforce, and Digital Society. According to Mr. Son, the strategy of this Vietnamese technology corporation focuses on ensuring three important goals: Building AI capabilities leading the nation and the region; Aiming for AI applications everywhere, at all times; Ensuring a harmonious combination between humans and AI.

"The most important factor in this cooperation model is the Vietnamese element," Mr. Son emphasized. "A model using Vietnamese data, Vietnamese engineers, Vietnamese people, and Vietnamese infrastructure will ensure the integrity of Vietnam's data sovereignty."
