Corporate bond issuances totaling over VND277.4 trillion (nearly $11.16 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, according to the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA).
There were 15 public offerings worth over VND27 trillion ($1.08 billion) and 268 privately placed bond issuances worth nearly VND250.4 trillion (more than $10 billion).
The banking sector was the largest issuer, accounting for 72% of the total. It was followed by the real estate industry with 18.54%.
In September alone, VND23.8 trillion ($951 million) worth of corporate bonds were issued, equal to just 40% of the previous month and marking the lowest since May this year.
Meanwhile, over VND79.8 trillion ($3.18 billion) worth of corporate bonds will reach maturity in the fourth quarter of 2024. Of which, 44% were issued by real estate businesses.
