Drastic measures to be taken to help construction material firms expand market

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked relevant ministries and agencies to take drastic measures to tackle difficulties and obstacles to help construction material businesses to stabilize production and trade and expand market.

He made the order while addressing a hybrid conference held in Hanoi on June 15 with connection to 32 localities, to seek ways to support enterprises operating in the cement, steel and construction material industry.

The Government leader urged them to continue effectively implementing the national strategy on construction material development in 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 and mineral exploration and exploitation plans.

“Developing the cement, steel and construction materials industry must ensure efficiency and sustainability, meeting domestic demand while promoting exports, contributing to boosting socio-economic development,” he said.

The PM directed the industry to enhance application of science and technology in improving product quality and diversifying products to meet construction demand.

The  leader also asked for  stronger measures to accelerate public investment and construction of transport infrastructure and remove obstacles facing the real estate market as part of efforts to increase demand for construction materials.

Particularly, PM Chinh requested the State Bank of Vietnam to review and amend regulations about debt extension and interest rate reduction for construction material enterprises.
