The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVN NPT) at Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) plans to spend more than VND19.2 trillion ($813 million) on building 35 new power transmission projects and putting 44 others into operation this year.
It will focus on safely and stably operating power lines and power stations, particularly the 500kV North-South power line, to ensure electricity supply for 2023 and subsequent years.
It will also take measures to proactively detect and prevent power incidents and reduce power losses.
EVN reported there were no incidents affecting the country’s power supply during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.
Data from the National Load Dispatch Center shows that between January 20 and 26, the highest power consumption capacity in the whole national power system was about 24,300 MW daily. The average daily electricity consumption was about 440.6 million kWh.
Electricity consumption around the country during Tet was down 30.3 per cent compared to the week before Tet.
