Foreign cross-border service providers in Vietnam have paid taxes totaling VND1.8 trillion ($76.7 million), according to the General Department of Taxation.

Facebook owner Meta has paid $37.5 million, Google $28.8 million, and Apple $7.4 million via a portal in which foreign service providers can declare and pay taxes online.

Forty-five foreign service providers have registered to declare and pay taxes through the portal, which was launched eight months ago.

The tax revenue shows that foreign service providers are complying with Vietnamese law on e-commerce and online business, according to the General Department of Taxation.

Total tax revenue from foreign service providers reached VND3.4 trillion ($144.9 million) last year.
