The Global Vietnam Innovation Forum (VGIC) 2026 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 29 under the theme “Vietnam’s New Era of Growth – Positioning the Nation on the Global Technology Map.”

The forum aims to promote innovative initiatives, technology projects and advanced solutions while strengthening links between Vietnam and the global innovation community.

The event brought together 100 Vietnamese and overseas Vietnamese innovators, including scientists, technology leaders and researchers holding key positions at leading global technology companies, research institutes and universities.

A key highlight of the forum was the signing of a joint declaration to establish the Vietnam Innovation & Policy Labs (VIPL) by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global), the Global On-Chain Economy Alliance (GOE Alliance) and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI).

VIPL is an independent policy research and advisory initiative designed to bridge international expertise with Vietnam's policymaking process.

The initiative seeks to establish a collaborative platform connecting the global network of Vietnamese experts, the private sector and international policy advisory organisations. It is expected to support institutional development, foster innovation and strengthen Vietnam's long-term national competitiveness.
