Investment estimated at $416 million for section between Hoa Binh and Son La provinces in Vietnam’s north.

The Chairman of the Hoa Binh Provincial People’s Committee has approved the construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway section running through the northern province.

It will link Hoa Binh with neighboring Son La province.

The 34-km section in Hoa Binh will be built at an estimated cost of nearly VND10 trillion ($416 million), sourced from the State budget and the provincial budget.

The section will initially have two lanes with a roadbed width of 12 meters, allowing a speed limit of 80 kph.

Upon full completion, the expressway will have four lanes with a roadbed width of 22 meters.

Thirty bridges will also be built along the route, including a cable-stayed bridge crossing the Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir. Three tunnels will also be built with a length ranging from 492 meters to 720 meters.

The project will be implemented from 2024 to 2028.
