Ha Tinh province is prioritizing investment in processing, manufacturing, metallurgy, energy, logistics, seaports, high-tech agriculture, green transformation, and digitalization.
The central province has also pledged to continue improving its investment environment, streamlining administrative procedures, and supporting businesses—specifically those from Austria and other countries in the Central and Eastern European region.
These remarks were made by Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Phan Thien Dinh, during a meeting on July 29 with a delegation from the Austrian Embassy in Vietnam and the Central and Eastern European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CEEC).
The meeting focused on exchanging opportunities for cooperation in investment promotion, trade, and socio-economic development between the two sides.
Following a site visit to Ha Tinh's Vung Ang Economic Zone, Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Philipp Agathonos, spoke highly of Ha Tinh’s strategic location, infrastructure, and development orientation.
The ambassador noted that Austria’s industrial development is built on a harmony between economic growth, environmental protection, the preservation of cultural values, and sustainable tourism. One of Austria’s key strengths lies in waste management, sorting, and treatment solutions at the source—particularly for plastic and packaging waste—aimed at improving recycling efficiency and promoting a circular economy.
Vice President of the CEEC, Mr. Florian Beranek, stated that businesses within the CEEC network possess extensive experience in green technology, digital transformation, environmental management, education and training, and sustainable development. These sectors align closely with Ha Tinh’s development needs in its new phase of growth.
During the working session, both parties agreed on a roadmap to strengthen cooperation in labor, education, investment promotion, trade, and people-to-people exchanges. A major focus will be on sharing expertise and seeking partnerships in domestic and industrial waste treatment, developing sustainable production models, and the efficient exploitation of wood chip materials for industrial purposes.
Ha Tinh’s leadership requested that the Austrian Embassy and CEEC continue to support the province in training high-quality human resources, particularly technical personnel for the steel mining and processing industries. They also called for enhanced collaboration between local vocational schools and universities and experienced European partners.
According to the Mr. Dinh, Ha Tinh expects to attract digital technology and infrastructure companies to invest in an AI data center at the Vung Ang Economic Zone. This initiative aims to gradually establish a modern, green, and sustainable industrial ecosystem in the province.
