North-central Ha Tinh province recorded export revenue of more than $1.12 billion in the first five months of the year, up 49.4 per cent compared to the same period last year, figures from the provincial Statistics Office show.

Key export products included steel, wood chips, and garments and textiles.

The province’s total trade value reached nearly $2.7 billion, a year-on-year rise of 13.86 per cent.

During the five-month period, total retail sales of goods amounted to over VND23.5 trillion ($991 million), up 19.34 per cent against the same period last year. Revenue from accommodation, food services, and travel reached nearly VND2.8 trillion ($118 million), surging 25.21 per cent.

Revenue from transportation was estimated at over VN2.76 trillion ($116 million), a year-on-year growth of 11.63 per cent.
