Hanoi has proposed building an outlet center on over 811 ha along Vo Nguyen Giap Road, which runs from Nhat Tan Bridge to Noi Bai International Airport, according to the municipal Department of Industry and Trade.
The outlet model is new in Vietnam but is very popular in other countries. It accommodates a large group of shops that sell products made by a particularly company at a reduced price. Although items sold are mainly outdated or have minor defects, they are from well-known fashion brands and can sell at much cheaper prices.
Such a model is expected to make great contributions to the development of tourism and services sectors once it is put into operation, according to the department.
