Thanh Thủy -

Index evaluates logistics development pace, quality, infrastructure, and policies.

Ho Chi Minh City has topped the Vietnam Provincial Logistics Competitiveness Index (LCI) 2022, according to a report released recently by the Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA).

The LCI is an index that evaluates the development speed, quality, infrastructure, and policies of municipal and provincial authorities for logistics service businesses in Vietnam.

This is the first-ever report and based on a survey carried out between August 2022 and November 2023 on 21 cities and provinces nationwide with the most outstanding GRDP, volume of transported goods, and number of logistics businesses.

Ho Chi Minh City was followed by Hai Phong, Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Hanoi.

Vietnam has 4,000 logistics companies, 70 per cent of which are located in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring localities.

The city targets recording a 15 per cent increase in logistics service revenue by 2025 and 20 per cent by 2030.
