Ho Chi Minh City businesses exported products worth over $400 million to Italy in 2022, according to Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan.

Vietnam is currently Italy’s largest trading partner in ASEAN while Italy is Vietnam’s fourth-largest European partner, he told a recent meeting to mark Italy’s 77th National Day.

Two-way trade turnover reached more than $6 billion in 2022, of which trade between Italy and Ho Chi Minh City totaled $780 million, including $400 million worth of exports to Italy.

Mr. Hoan said relations between the city and Italy have recorded important achievements, especially in trade, investment, education and training, culture, and tourism.
