Nine out of 26 contract packages for the Ring Road No. 3 project in Ho Chi Minh City have completed the contractor selection process, according to the Ministry of Transport (MoT).
Eight packages are now being implemented.
The remaining 17 contract packages are expected to select contractors in October, December, or early 2024.
Regarding site clearance, as of August, localities had handed over 77 per cent of land to investors.
With construction materials, MoT said the project needs around 7.2 million cu m of materials for ground leveling, including 1.5 million cu of sand. Surveyed mines in certain localities can supply 5.8 million cu of materials, including 1.25 cu m of sand.
Ring Road No. 3 has a total length of over 76 km, connecting the southern city with neighboring Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An provinces and other localities in the region.
It will have four lanes and a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
Total investment is estimated at nearly VND75.4 trillion ($3.14 billion).
