The 2023 investment promotion conference between northern Quang Ninh province and Japan was co-organized by Quang Ninh, Japan’s Hokkaido province, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on November 17 as part of activities in celebration of the 50^th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.

Four Japanese projects, including a precision engineering factory from Castem Vietnam, Parts Seiko Vietnam, a factory from Tamagawa Vietnam, and an industrial product manufacturing factory from Fujix Vietnam, were licensed at the conference, with total registered capital of more than $80 million.

Quang Ninh has attracted 172 FDI projects from 20 countries and territories in the 2016-2023 period, with total registered capital of an estimated $13.91 billion. In October alone, the province attracted $3.1 billion of FDI, leading the way nationwide.

Of the 172 projects, 12 were from Japan, with capital of $2.394 billion, or 17.2 per cent of the total.
