The 2023 investment promotion conference between northern Quang Ninh province and Japan was co-organized by Quang Ninh, Japan’s Hokkaido province, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on November 17 as part of activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.
Four Japanese projects, including a precision engineering factory from Castem Vietnam, Parts Seiko Vietnam, a factory from Tamagawa Vietnam, and an industrial product manufacturing factory from Fujix Vietnam, were licensed at the conference, with total registered capital of more than $80 million.
Quang Ninh has attracted 172 FDI projects from 20 countries and territories in the 2016-2023 period, with total registered capital of an estimated $13.91 billion. In October alone, the province attracted $3.1 billion of FDI, leading the way nationwide.
Of the 172 projects, 12 were from Japan, with capital of $2.394 billion, or 17.2 per cent of the total.
