Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has instructed the northern mountainous province of Lang Son to develop its cross-border economy to contribute to boosting economic development in the province, the northern region, and the country as a whole.
At a working session with local authorities on August 25, General Secretary Trong also asked the province to tap its potential and strengths to boost socio-economic development.
The province should enhance links with other localities in Vietnam’s north to create momentum for development, while developing comprehensive infrastructure and modern service, agricultural, and industrial sectors to achieve rapid and sustainable development.
Lang Son is the first locality nationwide to have successfully applied the “digital border gate” model.
It posted gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 6.95 per cent in the 2021-2022 period.
