Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has signed, on behalf of the Prime Minister, a government decree amending and supplementing certain regulations of the Decree No. 144/2016/ND-CP to help remove the legal obstacles for central Da Nang city to soon put the Da Nang Software Park No. 2 into operation.
Covering nearly 29,000 sq m in Hai Chau district, the project has total investment capital of VND1 trillion ($40.8 million) from the city budget.
Construction began in 2020, but the project was temporarily halted due to legal obstacles after completing basic construction and infrastructure.
The software park is a public asset because it uses State budget funds, but there were a lack of regulations on its management and use.
The new decree provides clear mechanisms in identifying assets formed after investment as information infrastructure asset, and regulations on managing, using, and exploiting information infrastructure assets invested and managed by the State.
It therefore creates conditions for Da Nang to operate and exploit the software park, support IT and communications businesses, and expand software development space.
Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications Le Son Phong said right after the new decree takes effect, the central city will continue investing in completing the project and make plan to exploit its ICT centers.
