LEGO Group held a ceremony on November 6 to announce the project's progress and start trial production at its new factory in southern Binh Duong province.

The LEGO Group started trial production at its $1.3-billion in southern Binh Duong province on November 6, two years after construction began in November 2022.

Around 90% of the factory's construction work has been completed  and it is expected to be launched in early 2025, according to an announcement by the group at a ceremony on November 6.

The test is an important milestone, ensuring that when the factory is permitted to run in early 2025 ahead of the grand opening, it meets the high quality and safety standards upheld at each of the LEGO Group’s manufacturing facilities worldwide.

The new factory is designed to be the company’s most sustainable to date, with plans to reduce energy consumption and maximize the use of renewable energy.

The company completed the installation of 12,400 rooftop solar panels in the third quarter of this year, which will generate an estimated 7.4 MWp, equivalent to annual energy consumption of approximately 1,270 households.

The factory covers nearly 45 ha at the Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park III . It is expected to create jobs for over 3,000 people once fully operational.
