The Department of Customs in southern Binh Duong province has signed an agreement on information mechanisms, support, and enhanced cooperation with the LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam Ltd. Co.
Director General of LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam Preben Elnef said he wants the two sides to enhance cooperation in order to receive direction and guidelines on regulations and administrative procedures to prevent legal violations.
Through provincial authorities, the company also hopes to strengthen cooperation with local businesses and the community, he said.
A representative from the Department asked the company to follow directions from authorized agencies.
It will update information and regulations on import and export activities for LEGO Vietnam in a timely manner, organize meetings to collect opinions on draft import and export regulations relating to the company’s operations, and help it tackle obstacles.
The Department will also speed up digital transformation and apply information technology to reduce the time and cost in carrying out administrative procedures.
On this occasion, LEGO Vietnam also asked for permission to open a warehouse in Binh Duong for the distribution of products.
The LEGO Group began construction of its $1 billion manufacturing plant in Binh Duong in November 2022. It is expected to be put into operation in 2024.
