The Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone (EZ) in southern Tay Ninh province is planned to become an important trade connection center between Vietnam and neighboring Cambodia and ASEAN region under a master planning to develop the EZ by 2030 with a vision to 2050.
The Ministry of Construction has recently held a conference to appraise the planning.
The planning is aimed at developing the EZ into a new growth driver and an economic growth pole with strong regional and international competitiveness.
The EZ is also envisioned to become a center of border services, logistics, finance and trade as well as an international transshipment port.
Tay Ninh plays a key role in connecting southern provinces to Cambodia, the Greater Mekong Sub-region, and other ASEAN countries.
The southern province lends strategic importance to its Moc Bai - the largest land border gate in the south of Vietnam.
The Moc Bai EZ attracted 56 investment projects as of January 2024, including 19 foreign-invested ones, with a total capital of $401 million and VND8.6 trillion ($343 million).
