The 15^th National Assembly (NA)’s sixth session passed the Law on Housing (amended) on November 27.

The Land Law (amended), which had been scheduled to be approved at this NA session, was left for further consideration at the next session, due to complicated regulations relating to land use right prices, land acquisition and compensation, and support for recovering land, among other matters.

Under the new Law on Housing, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will be the primary executing agency for any social housing projects invested in with capital from trade union financial resources for workers and others subject to incentives from social housing policies.

Under the amended law, the selection of investors to implement social housing projects will be carried out in the same way as regulated by the Law on Public Investment.
