All eight trains on the Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station metro line underwent a test run on December 5 and efficiency recorded on the first day reached 100 per cent, according to the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board.

The test run will be conducted in two phases, with the first phase lasting from five days to six weeks in order to evaluate the line’s RAM efficiency.

If the efficiency recorded during the first five consecutive days of trial runs fails to reach 98 per cent, the trial will be extended until the goal is achieved, to a maximum of six weeks.

The second phase of the trial run will take place after the RAM efficiency evaluation is completed.

The Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station line runs 12.5 km from Nhon in Nam Tu Liem district via Kim Ma Street to Hanoi Railway Station in Dong Da district. Work began in 2010 at an estimated cost of $1.2 billion, but several delays pushed it out to almost $1.5 billion.

The line’s first train underwent a trial run in January last year.
