The People's Committee of the northern province of Ninh Binh recently convened a meeting to review and provide feedback on two major planning projects: the Me Urban Area Master Plan in Gia Vien District (vision to 2035) and the Zonal Plan for a Service Urban Area and High-Tech Agricultural Production Zone in Kim Son District.
The Me Urban Area Master Plan, designed to 2035, spans nearly 2,000 ha and projects a population of approximately 440,000 people.
According to the plan, the area is set to become the administrative, political, and socio-cultural center of Gia Vien District. Additionally, it will be developed into a tourism and service-oriented urban hub, serving as a key transportation node, connecting major tourist destinations both within and beyond the province.
Meanwhile, the Service Urban Area and High-Tech Agricultural Production Zone is projected to cover over 900 ha, divided into two specialized zones.
Service Urban Area (449 ha) is designed as a public service hub and ecological urban center, accommodating around 10,000 residents. Key developments include housing for workers and experts, facilities supporting tourism and sports, waterfront urban spaces, and resort and tourism complexes with approximately 600 rooms.
High-Tech Agricultural Production Zone (461 ha) is expected to employ around 1,000 workers, this zone will focus on advanced aquaculture and seed production, offering specialized services for production support and agricultural commercialization. It will particularly cater to marine aquaculture, a priority investment sector for Ninh Binh province.
