Overseas Vietnamese invest $1.72 bln in fatherland by the end of 2023

Overseas Vietnamese invested in 421 foreign direct investment projects in Vietnam with a total registered capital of $1.72 billion by the end of 2023, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.

Addressing the 4th World Conference of Overseas Vietnamese and the 2024 forum of OV intellectuals and experts, which opened in Hanoi on August 22, with the attendance of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh,   Minister Son highlighted contributions made by Overseas Vietnamese to the national construction and development.

Over the past 30 years,  Overseas Vietnamese have remitted more than $200 billion to the fatherland, equivalent to the disbursed FDI capital during the same period.
