Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Yoon Suk Yeol attended the Vietnam-RoK Business Forum in Hanoi on June 23, attended by some 500 Vietnamese and South Korean enterprises.

The Forum saw the participation of leading corporations from the two countries, such as Samsung, Doosan Enerbility, Shinhan Bank, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Vinfast, among others.

Discussions centered on support for the development of the electronic component industry, the transition to net-zero emissions, cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK in energy, cooperative opportunities in green transport, and cooperation in digital transformation.

Vietnam and the RoK established diplomatic ties in December 1992 and became strategic partners in October 2009. The two raised bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in December 2022.

The RoK is currently one of Vietnam’s leading partners, ranking first in investment with total capital of $81.5 billion, second in official development assistance (ODA), and third in trade, with two-way trade revenue reaching $87 billion in 2022.
