Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has underscored the critical role of Chu Lai Airport in unlocking Quang Nam Province's unique potential.
During a working session with the Standing Committee of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee on February 8, he emphasized the need to promptly solicit investors and collaborate with relevant parties to expedite the airport's dual-use operation.
The Prime Minister urged the central province to upgrade the airport to level 4F and develop an airport city, fostering a robust airport ecosystem.
He designated Quang Nam Province as the competent authority to engage investors and work with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Finance to address challenges and complete procedures within the first half of 2025. The goal is to finalize the airport's investment and construction within the following two years for dual-use operation.
Additionally, the Prime Minister suggested leveraging the coastal road as a new development corridor. He recommended allocating land in the east for service development, production, and business activities, while focusing on industrial and urban development in the west, with urban areas and real estate near the mountains.
PM Chinh also called on Quang Nam to strive for a provincial economic growth rate of at least 10% for 2025 and the 2021-2025 period.
This includes revitalizing traditional growth drivers and effectively leveraging new growth drivers and emerging industries such as semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, and the development of cultural and entertainment industries.
