Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for oil and gas companies, including Jadestone Energy Plc, to explore, develop and exploit oil in Vietnam in line with the law, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said while receiving President and CEO of Jadestone Energy Paul Blakeley in Hanoi on August 3, the Government News reported.
Headquartered in the UK, the company operates in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. It has operated in Vietnam for more than ten years, with total investment standing at over $290 million.
Prime Minister Chinh applauded the company’s investment activities on Vietnam’s continental shelf and especially on seeking solutions to develop the Nam Du-U Minh gas field to provide additional gas for the southern region.
He asked Jadestone Energy and relevant agencies to work together to remove obstacles and difficulties to complete the development plan for the Nam Du-U Minh gas field for submission to authorized agencies for appraisal and approval in line with regulations.
The government leader asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to guide PetroVietnam to actively support Jadestone Energy in its negotiations with stakeholders for optimal and effective plans to consume and develop the Nam Du-U Minh gas field.
