Ports handle 8% more cargo in 2M

The total volume of cargo transported through seaports in the first two months of this year is estimated at 111.614 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8 per cent, the Vietnam Maritime Administration was quoted by the Government News as reporting. 

Export cargo reached 28.68 million, up nearly 8 per cent year-on-year, and import cargo 33.884 million tons, up 16 per cent. 

Container cargo transported via seaports totaled over 5 million TEUs, up 27 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Ho Chi Minh City, southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, and northern Hai Phong city recorded the highest growth in the country, with average year-on-year increases of 43-53 per cent.
