Public investment capital disbursement for key transport projects in the first six months of the year was estimated at over VND28.83 trillion ($1.14 billion), equivalent to 30.4% of the annual plan, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The figure is higher than the national average of 28.15%.
Of the total, capital from the State budget reached more than VND26.7 trillion ($1.05 billion) and the rest was from the provincial budget.
Some projects had high disbursement rate, including the Eastern North-South Expressway project in the 2021-2025 period with 46.8%, and the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway (first phase) with 41.9%.
However, disbursement for some transport projects remained slow, including the Ring Road No.4 of the Hanoi Capital Region (13.5%) and the Ring Road No.3 in Ho Chi Minh City (13.4%).
Total public investment capital disbursement of the whole country reached over VND232 trillion ($9.17 billion) as of July 31, equivalent to 34.68% of the annual plan assigned by the Prime Minister.
By the end of July, the public investment capital disbursement by the Ministry of Transport was equal to 50.83% of the annual plan. It was among 11 ministries and central agencies with the disbursement rate higher than the national average.
