Authorities in central Quang Binh province signed 29 MoUs with investors totaling over VND112 trillion ($4.72 billion) at a conference on June 25 to promote investment in the province.
Projects focus on fields of investment priority for Quang Binh, such as infrastructure, tourism, mining, renewable energy, and real estate.
They include the Quang Trach II Thermal Power Plant from Electricity of Vietnam, with total investment of VND50 trillion ($2.1 billion); a project to exploit solar power from the Machines & Industrial Equipment Corporation, with investment of over VND10 trillion ($422 million); and the second phase of a solar power plant from the Dohwa Engineering Group in South Korea, with estimated investment of VND650 billion ($27.4 million).
Other projects in infrastructure and tourism invested by both domestic and foreign investors include a project to build a terminal and expand the airstrip at Dong Hoi Airport with investment of over VND1.96 trillion ($82.7 million), a 24-km tourism road connecting Dong Hoi city with Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park with investment of VND2.9 trillion ($122 million), and a tourism site in Le Thuy district with investment of VND859 billion ($36.2 million).
