Central Quang Binh province welcomed 5.2 million visitors in 2024, marking a 15.3% increase compared to 2023 and achieving 104% of the set annual target.
Among these, international visitors reached an estimated 146,100, reflecting a 23.8% rise from the previous year.
Total revenue from tourism is estimated at approximately VND5.98 trillion (nearly $235 million), a 17.3% increase from 2023 and equivalent to 118% of the 2024 plan.
The province continues to solidify its position and brand on the tourism map of Vietnam, the region, and the world, garnering significant attention and high praise from tourists and reputable international publications such as Amsterdam-headquartered Booking.com (Netherlands), Lonely Planet and Travel + Leisure (USA), Time Out (UK), and the South China Morning Post (China).
According to the provincial Department of Tourism, these results were achieved through the effective implementation of supportive investment policies and incentives during 2024, in collaboration with the province's Department of Planning and Investment and other relevant departments.
Efforts included facilitating investors in researching and proposing new projects, implementing projects with approved investment policies, and accelerating the construction and operation of accommodations, commercial centers, and entertainment areas.
Furthermore, tourism promotion and marketing efforts were intensified through various forms and rich, diverse content tailored to specific markets, especially in Europe, the US, Laos, and Thailand.
Tourism publications were actively promoted on websites and social media platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Many images and tourism products of Quang Binh were selected by Meta and Google to be showcased and utilized in new technology applications.
