Vietnam’s radio and television industry posted revenue of nearly VND23 trillion ($934 million) in 2023, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications’ Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information.
Pay-radio and television services contributed nearly VND10.5 trillion ($437 million), up 3 per cent compared to 2022.
Total subscribers stood at nearly 22 million, a year-on-year rise of over 19 per cent.
Pay TV services via the over-the-top platform (OTT TV), also called online television, have become more popular. In 2021, turnover from OTT TV was estimated at VND200 billion ($8.2 million).
The figure increased to VND740 billion ($30.4 million) in 2022 and over VND1.550 billion ($63.7 million) in 2023.
