Vietnam exported around 110,000 tons of rubber in May, earning revenue of $149 million, down 3.6 per cent in volume and 23.4 per cent in value year-on-year, figures from the Department of Export and Import at the Ministry of Industry and Trade show.
The figure brings total rubber exports in the first five months of the year to 580,000 tons worth $803 million, down 3.3 per cent and 23.7 per cent, respectively.
The average price of rubber exports in May was estimated at $1,358 per ton, 20.5 per cent less than in May last year.
China remains Vietnam’s biggest export market, accounting for 99.79 per cent of the total.
Vietnam is the fourth-largest rubber supplier to South Korea.
