The second extra-ordinary meeting of the 15th National Assembly (NA) opened in Hanoi on January 5.

In his opening remarks, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said the meeting will consider some major, important, and urgent issues, including the National Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050; the draft Law on Medical Examination and Treatment (amended); and the implementation of policies on Covid-19 prevention and control.

Lawmakers will also hear reports on supplementing the State budget estimate of foreign non-refundable aid in 2021; adjusting the budget estimate to ensure unused funds for regular operations of the General Department of Taxation and the General Department of Vietnam Customs at the end of 2021; and adjusting refinancing plans for localities in 2022.

The five-day meeting will also consider personnel matters, including the dismissal of NA deputies, the approval of resignations, and the approval of proposals to appoint new personnel to replace those dismissed.
