Seven commodities posted export turnover of $10 billion or more in 2023, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
They accounted for 66 per cent of the country’s total export turnover, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) online newspaper has reported.
The commodities included computers, electronics, and components, with $57.34 billion; phones and accessories with $53.19 billion; machinery, equipment, and tools with $43.18 billion; garments and textiles with $33.23 billion; footwear with $20.37 billion; vehicles and tools with $13.74 billion; and timber with $13.42 billion.
Vietnam posted trade of $683 billion in 2023, down 6.6 per cent year-on-year. Exports were estimated at $355.5 billion, a year-on-year decline of 4.4 per cent.
The country recorded a trade surplus of $28 billion.
