Lao Cai province was the locality that completed voting the earliest (at 17:45) and, together with the central city of Hue, was one of two out of 34 localities to reach 100% voter participation.
At exactly 7:00am, voters across the country eagerly headed to over 72,000 polling stations to elect deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. In this election, nearly 79 million voters will exercise their right and obligation to vote.
A total of 864 candidates are running for seats in the 16th National Assembly across 182 electoral constituencies, competing for 500 seats, representing an average ratio of 1.73 candidates per seat.
