In a phone conversation with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on August 25, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong outlined a number of major directions for the two countries’ relations to develop strongly and in a more substantive manner. At a national conference on June 30 to review ten years of fighting corruption in the 2012-2022 period, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong touched on five groups of tasks and key solutions. It is necessary to synchronously improve institutions, promptly overcome inadequacies, and close any “gaps” so that “corruption cannot happen”.
At a meeting with voters in Hanoi on June 23, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said it is necessary to continue the fight against corruption and a lack of transparency. At the end of June, the Party Central Committee will hold a national conference summarizing ten years of anti-corruption efforts, drawing on lessons for the new era, he said.
