A delegation from the Mekong Delta’s Long An province paid a working visit to Japan on September 6 and 7 in the hope of strengthening cooperation in the fields of labor exports and investment. There are currently more than 130 Japanese enterprises operating in Long An.
The Long An Provincial People’s Committee has just approved the task of planning the Tan My New Urban Area in Tan My commune, Duc Hoa district, at a scale of 1/2000. The Mekong Delta province’s new urban area covers more than 930 ha and targets a population of 80,000-99,000. It will play an important role in linking Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta provinces and in the distribution of the urban population between the province and Ho Chi Minh City.
