PM outlines development orientation for Mekong Delta

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh outlined the future development of the Mekong Delta at a conference to promote agricultural development in the area to adapt to climate change. The Mekong Delta leads the country in terms of rice, brackish water shrimp, pangasius, and fruit production, with agricultural GDP growth targeted at over 3 per cent per year by 2025, per capita income in rural areas to at least double, agriculture to employ less than 30 per cent of all workers, and aquaculture products certified for sustainable production to exceed 20 per cent.
