The Minister of Finance has urged the tax sector to speed up digitization, in which a tax data and e-invoice data center should be developed.
Tax office to track overseas suppliers on digital platforms
On March 21, the General Department of Taxation will launch an electronic portal for overseas suppliers with business on digital platforms in Vietnam to register, declare, and pay taxes. Overseas suppliers on digital platforms without a business establishment in Vietnam will be subject to 5 per cent VAT and 10 per cent corporate income tax.
Electronic tax payment service proves effective
Through coordination between the General Department of Taxation and 55 commercial banks and 63 Departments of Taxation around Vietnam, nearly VND490 trillion ($21.53 billion) and more than $29 million in taxes have been paid through an electronic tax payment service since the beginning of the year.
