Minister of Finance Ngo Van Tuan speaks at the conference “Vietnam officially joins the global index basket – FTSE Russell Global Equity Index Series” (FTSE GEIS) that marks the upgrade of Vietnam’s stock market from a frontier market to a secondary emerging market according to FTSE Russell's classification, which officially takes effect on September 21, 2026.

Under the draft of the “Upgrading Vietnamese Labor Skills to 2030 and Vision to 2045” project from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), the goal by 2030 is to standardize vocational skills levels for about 50 per cent of the national workforce, especially workers in key economic sectors.

The State Securities Commission and related units have introduced measures to help the stock market develop stably and have its status upgraded.
