The Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has approved planning for the development of the Giang Quang urban area by 2045.

It will cover nearly 2,000 ha in the north-central province’s Thieu Hoa district.

The urban area will be developed into a socio-economic center in the northeastern region of the district and surrounding areas.

It will also be an important transportation point, with links to the North-South Expressway and National Highways No. 1 and No. 5.

The urban area will have two development zones. One will serve as the district’s administrative, social, culture, and sports center and focus on the development of agriculture, high-technology agriculture, and ecological services, while the other will be developed into an industrial cluster.

The total population in the urban area is estimated to reach 37,000.
