The People's Committee of central Thành Hoa province recently decided to impose administrative penalties on Green Home Joint Stock Company, based in Hanoi, and Manh Thanh Co., Ltd., headquartered in Thanh Hoa city, for their environmental violations in the province.

Green Home Joint Stock Company was found guilty of multiple violations at the Tecco Center Point Apartment Complex in Binh Minh Urban Area, Dong Huong Ward, Thanh Hoa city. The infractions include: failure to adhere to the environmental permit for the collection, management, and treatment of domestic waste; discharge of domestic wastewater with parameters exceeding environmental standards by 2.6 to 5.04 times (for wastewater flows ranging from 100m³/day to less than 200m³/day); violation of regulations concerning the trial operation of wastewater treatment facilities.

As a result, Green Home Joint Stock Company has been fined VND538 million (over $21,000).

Manh Thanh Co., Ltd. faced penalties for violations at its base paper and joss paper production workshop in Dong Hoang Commune, Thanh Hoa city.

The company’s offenses include: failure to operate the centralized wastewater treatment system installed at the facility; installation of equipment and pipelines to discharge untreated waste into the environment; discharge of 70m³/day of wastewater containing parameters exceeding technical standards into the environment.

Consequently, Manh Thanh Co., Ltd. has been fined over VND844 million (over $33,000).

In addition to the financial penalties, both companies are required to implement measures to rectify the environmental damage in accordance with regulations.
