North-central Thanh Hoa province recorded positive socio-economic development in the first four months of the year, with key industries starting to show signs of recovery.

Its Index of Industrial Production increased 5.34 per cent year-on-year, contributing to a rise of 6.22 per cent year-on-year in the first four months.

Total revenue from the retail sales of goods and services in April was estimated at over VND10.36 trillion ($437 million), up 11.7 per cent year-on-year. This brought the total in the first four months to VND42.7 trillion ($1.8 billion), up 11.4 per cent.

Revenue from accommodation services reached over VND904 billion ($38.1 million), a 2.4-fold increase over the same period last year.
