North-central Thanh Hoa province is estimated to post gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth of 11.72 per cent for 2024 as a whole, exceeding its annual target of 11 per cent, according to the provincial People’s Committee.
It would therefore rank third among the 63 cities and provinces in Vietnam in terms of growth.
Its GRDP is estimated at over VND318.7 trillion ($12.49 billion), ranking it eighth in the country.
The province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is expected to increase 19.25 per cent year-on-year.
Total export revenue is projected to reach $6.29 billion, equivalent to 104.9 per cent of the annual plan and up 23.4 per cent compared to last year.
It is also expected to welcome 15.3 million tourists this year, exceeding the annual target by 10.9 per cent and up 22.5 per cent year-on-year. Around 719,000 of these will be international visitors, a surge of 38 per cent against last year.
Some 3,107 enterprises will be established in the province in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 5.7 per cent, topping all localities in the north-central region and ranking it eighth nationwide.
Thanh Hoa targets posting GRDP growth of 11 per cent in 2025, with average GRDP per capita to stand at over $3,750.
